Salem Animal Rescue League recognized that sometimes senior people just didn't have enough money to buy food for their pets, so we came up with a way to help! We've created the Meals on Wheels program (MoW). SARL provides the Salem branch of Meals on Wheels and the Salem Senior Center with pet food that they can then distribute to needy seniors and their pets. Often, we are fortunate enough to have extra food that we cannot use so this is the perfect way to make sure it's put to good use. Without offering a program like this, many elderly people are forced to share their limited food supplies with their animals. SARL is proud to help our senior community!
How Can You Help?
Donate pet food. Any brand - wet or dry - cat or dog food. (There is a greater need for cat food)
Provide financial donations (link here to IGive button) to allow us to continue to offer more programs like this.
Deliver our pet food donations to the Salem Senior Center on a weekly basis.
Volunteer at our shelter so we can continue to expand programs like this.
