The Salem Animal Rescue League (SARL) is a volunteer not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization whose goal is to find permanent, loving homes for the abandoned and unwanted animals in Salem, NH and surrounding communities. We are committed to a 100% spay/neuter policy of all animals adopted from our shelter.

SARL is a limited admission shelter. We assist all Salem strays as a first priority. We accept owner surrenders but since our shelter has a limited capacity, all inquiries for intake will be given a full assessment for level of care/need/space before being approved to come in. We do NOT euthanize for space. As one is adopted and cage or kennel space opens up another will be approved to come in. During busy times of the year we do maintain a wait list. This Spring the Salem Animal Rescue League will receive hundreds of kittens and pregnant female cats. We are currently recruiting foster families to provide 6-8 weeks of in-home care to pregnant pets, new moms and their babies and abandoned litters.
